She's a doctor and an expert in her working area - the anatomical pathology - and offers an important support during the investigation into the deaths of the young women. Reed Smith is a friend of Rose Stagg, who previously had a relationship with Paul and becomes a victim in the second season, making Reed Smith feel remorse because she thinks she has put her friend in danger.
